Dear Brewster Families,
Below are descriptions of three important presentations and one family fun event that we hope that you can attend.
Safety in Our Schools, March 19, 2018, 7:00pm at HH Wells Middle School
Come learn about what Brewster Schools are doing to ensure the safety of students and staff. School Resource Officers, administrators and members of the School Health Emergency Preparedness Team will be available to answer your questions and address your concerns.
Prevention Assessment Survey and Hidden Mischief, March 28, 7:00 pm, Brewster High School
The results of the Prevention Assessment Survey taken by students every two years in grades 8-12 will be discussed. This survey captures risky behaviors that some teenagers engage in such as alcohol and drug use as well as other unsafe activities. Through the Hidden Mischief simulation, learn where teenagers may be concealing drugs or drug materials in their bedrooms. Ms. Doreen Lockwood and Ms. Kristin O’Connell from Putnam Coalition of Communities that Care will be making the presentation.
The Dangers of Vaping with Dr. Stephen Dewey, April 19, 7:00 pm, HH Wells Middle School
Incidents of vaping are on the rise among teenagers. Vaping devices and materials are easy to obtain and easy to conceal. Through the generosity of the Brewster PTAs/PTSA, a respected authority will be coming to our District. Dr. Stephen Dewey will be making a presentation on vaping and how it impacts the body and the brain. All parents should attend this presentation.
World Cup of Cultures, April 13, 2018, 6:00pm-8:00pm, Brewster High School
Join this family fun event to celebrate our community through games, music and food. We need families to bring their favorite game or a game popular in another country to play together with other families. There will also be a World Jeopardy Game created by students from HH Wells. Families, students and school teams can play and win prizes. This free event is sponsored by Brewster CommUNITY.
We need your support. Please join us.
