The Enrichment Program

    Garden Street School offers all students in the third grade the opportunity to participate in enrichment workshops in a variety of content areas that supplement the classroom program.  These workshops are designed to support students' talents and interests.  Our district wide philosophy on enrichment activities is noted below as created by the BCSD Enrichment Committee:

• We believe the entire student population should have enriching opportunities in and beyond the classroom.
• We believe that students should be offered the opportunity, through flexible grouping, to work with others who share their interests, skill, or prior knowledge.
• We believe that all teachers should be offered the support, resources and materials to continue to make the vision possible.

    Generally the last period of the day on Friday is set aside for enrichment workshops, which are offered by our staff.  In some instances enrichment is offered during the recess period.  As these programs/workshops develop they will be posted on the web site.

     Although not mandatory, we encourage all students to participate in these extra curricular activities, as part of our commitment to offer each and every third grade student the opportunity to expand and/or explore their talents to their fullest potential.
