Goals 2008-09
Vision:
We believe that every student is unique and can learn. The focus for BCS is to foster the development of each child as a whole person, through offering in a fiscally responsible manner, challenging and appropriate programs, facilities and staffing.
Mission:
To create a culture within BCS that embraces the whole child, challenges children’s abilities, accepts diversity, incorporates relevant technology, and develops a Professional Learning Community which strives to rigorously evaluate its effectiveness on student learning.
Goals:
- Continue to construct and refine our Long Range Strategic Plan:
- Move forward with the feasibility of a capital project for the renovation of HH Wells
- Explore costs and feasibility of construction of one turf athletic multi-purpose field
- Advance student learning through:
- Continuing to build the culture of a Professional Learning Community with a/an
- Focus on the development of common assessments
- Examination of current research-based models of observation and evaluation
- Exploration of current research-based models of lesson/unit design
- Emphasis on technology integration
- K-12 review of Writing Program based on Tristate indicators and Essential Questions
- Research, development and implementation of pilot programs in Special Education and ESL
- Social/Emotional Skills curriculum development
- Foreign Language program review
- Sustain fiscal prudence
