Substitutes

The Brewster Central School District is currently seeking substitutes for classroom teachers and aides. Substitutes enjoy flexible hours and can:

• Determine the days and hours they want to work.
• Gain experience in an educational environment.
• Display and enhance their teaching skills.
• Be home during vacations and holidays.
• Serve the children of our community on a part-time basis.

Substitutes Teachers

Substitutes Teachers can earn $90.00 per day, and $95 after ten days.

To become a substitute teacher in the district, a Bachelor’s and/or a Master’s Degree is required. Teacher certification is preferred but not required. However, non-certified substitutes are limited to forty days (40) per school year by the New York State Education Department. Non-Certified substitutes are exempt from this regulation if they are enrolled in a teacher education program and taking six credits per year.

1. Completed Substitute Application
2. Three Letters of Reference
3. Completed OPSRA Fingerprinting Affidavit
4. Copy of Four Year Degree
5. Copy of NY State Certification if applicable
6. Cover Letter
7. Resume
