The Brewster School lunch program is striving for 100 percent student lunch participation. With new menu selections being implemented monthly, our student population will help us determine which menu selection they want offered. Our menus are posted on the web site on a monthly basis. A nutritional analysis of each month’s menu is available upon request. Goals of the School Nutrition Program
On June 23, 2004 President Bush signed into law a 5-year reauthorization bill for child nutrition programs.
At the same time that this new legislation was enacted, Brewster Central School District hired a registered dietitian to direct their school lunch program. The present goals of the Brewster Schools lunch program will be to implement this new legislation focusing on three initiatives.
1. Families will have easier access to food programs offered to their children as no child is to be left behind.
2. A healthier United States will be promoted within the Brewster Schools environment where every student a success in selecting healthy food choices.
3. The integrity of the school lunch federal program will remain intact with Brewster schools efficiently using federal resources available to us.
