AP EXAM REGISTRATION ENDING ON JANUARY 31, 2019. 

REMINDER: ADVANCED PLACEMENT EXAM REGISTRATION WILL END ON JANUARY 31, 2019 @ 11:59PM. IN ORDER TO TAKE THE EXAM(S)YOU MUST REGISTER AND PAY FOR THE EXAM. ONLY THOSE STUDENTS WHO HAVE MADE PAYMENT OR ARRANGED PAYMENT WILL BE ABLE TO TAKE THE EXAM. FOR MORE INFORMATION and ONLINE REGISTRATION,  SEE THE LINK UNDER PARENT/STUDENT RESOURCES.

COLLEGE VISITS

Mercy College will be conducting an On-Site Application Day at BHS on Wednesday, January 30th at 10:00 a.m in the iTheatre in the library. The application fee will be waived and the representative will walk students through the application process. Interested students should bring their high school transcript to the visit.

iLC CLOSED TODAY THROUGH JANUARY 25

If you need to get to classes on either side of the ILC, you will need to travel through the first floor hallway.
If you are taking a regents, please speak with your teacher/s to find out the time and location.

For those taking the regents in the afternoon there will be 2 late buses:  5:15pm & 6:15pm.

SEAL OF BILITERACY

Earn a Seal of Biliteracy!  – Are you a senior and consider yourself bilingual and biliterate in ANY language? Then YOU can earn a certification on your diploma.  See your English or Modern Language teacher or Guidance Counselor for information about how you can earn recognition for your abilities!  Attend an interest meeting on Wednesday, January 23rd in the LGI.

GIRLS GOLF INTEREST MEETING

There will be a girls golf interest meeting on Thursday, January 24 at 2:30 in room 106. Please see Mr. Berardo in the Athletic Office or contact him at dberardo@brewsterschools.org. There are several possibilities for the upcoming season.

URSUS

URSUS will have a meeting on Thursday after school in room 211.

BEAR FACTS

There will be a Bear Facts meeting this Thursday after school in room 215.

ROBOTICS

The Robotics club will meet on Thursday in room 163 immediately after school.

OPEN GYM FOR GIRLS SOFTBALL PLAYERS

There will be an open gym for any student interested in playing Modified, JV and Varsity softball on Sunday, January 27 from 5:30-7:00 pm at the high school gym.

MENTAL HEALTH CLUB

The Mental Health Matters club will meet Tuesday, January 29 after school in room 213. Plans to participate in “Mental Health Matters” day in Albany will be discussed. We ALL have mental health!

BASKETBALL SHOOTING CONTEST

Attention students: Do you play basketball? Can you shoot better than LeBron or Curry? Show us your skills! Sign-up in the athletic office this week, for the chance to participate in a half-time basketball shooting contest at the varsity boys game on Friday, February 1, 2019 and the varsity girls game on Tuesday, February 5, 2019.

SPRING DRIVER’S EDUCATION

We are still accepting applications for the Spring session of driver education.  Sign up early for best choice of days and times.  Return application to the main office prior to orientation.  Mandatory orientation is February 4 @ 4:00 in the LGI. Information and the application are available on line, under Parent/Student Resources and in the main office.


PUTNAM COUNTY YOUTH FORUM

 

The Putnam County Youth Forum is April 9. There is a need for students to become involved on the Planning Committee. The committee meets on Tuesdays beginning January 15 from 6:30-8 pm.. If you are interested in this leadership opportunity, please see Mrs. Lodge in the Guidance Office, or speak with your school counselor.

SCIENCE HONOR SOCIETY

Science Honor Society “Recycle Roundup” is posted in the Google Classroom. Please sign up for Mondays or Thursdays. We will meet in room 257. Please see Mr. Kilroy or Ms. Bald if you have any questions.

Teachers, please leave your Blue Recycle Bins outside your classrooms on Mondays and Thursdays for recycling. If possible, please obtain a copy-room cardboard box to store bottles in. If you need a blue recycle bin then please email Mr. Kilroy or Ms. Bald.

Do you like to write, draw, take photos? If you answered yes to any or all, please submit your work to URSUS. We accept photos, writing, drawings, paintings! Share your work with Mrs. Fine, Ms. McTigue, any URSUS member, or email to showursuslove2016@gmail.com. Trust your work will be anonymously discussed, but include your full name when submitting.
