APE Field Day

APE Field Day

An Inclusive & Fun Filled Day for All

What a brilliant morning for Adaptive Field Day. The sun was shinning and students were all smiles for the Opening Ceremony, engaging activities and sightings of the Brewster Bears!

The event is an inclusive celebration designed for students of all abilities. This special event brings together students with special needs, community partners from the Brewster Fire Department and the Patterson Rotary, and dedicated high school student volunteers to create a day filled with fun, movement, and connection.

After the Opening Ceremonies and a group pictures, students enjoyed so many fun stations tailored to meet diverse physical and cognitive abilities, ensuring that every student could participate and feel successful.

There were relay races, bean bag, penguin and lizard toy toss, parachute games, a visit to the Brewster Fire Department truck and ambulance (with lots of swag), face painting and lots of dancing and group games.

Thank you to all of the teachers and staff who supported students with a special shout out to BHS students involved in NROTC, the Art Honor Society, and other student groups who volunteered and cheered on students and helped create a festive atmosphere.

Adaptive PE Field Day is more than just a day of games—it is a powerful example of inclusion, teamwork, and community spirit. The event promotes acceptance, celebrates diverse athletic abilities, and highlights the importance of providing meaningful opportunities for all students to be active, engaged, and valued.
