Late last week, the New York State Education Department (NYSED) released a much-anticipated framework for in-person re-entry. Although we have been planning for in-person re-entry for months, these guidelines and mandates allow us to take additional steps towards formulating detailed plans.
One of those steps is to gauge the types of decisions that parents will make regarding in-person re-entry for their son/daughter. An aspect of the guidance outlined the possibility for remote learning opportunities for families with students or family members in a high risk-category, or who are uncomfortable sending students to school for in-person instruction. Further, it would also be helpful to know your anticipated transportation plans for your son/daughter upon re-entering school this year. Toward that end, we ask that you please take a moment to indicate your current thinking regarding these two topics.
Please know that indicating your preference now does not commit you to that same choice in September; rather it gives us an idea of how our families are feeling about re-entry in general, and allows for us to have some rough numbers to work with for our planning. We will be reaching out again in the coming weeks for a more definite committal on both of these topics.
Please complete this survey by Thursday, July 23rd by 5:00 p.m.
We cannot thank you enough for your flexibility and partnership throughout this unprecedented time. Please know that we are doing everything in our power to create an optimal learning experience for all of our students in September.
