PLTW Introduction to Engineering Design

  • The PLTW Intro to Engineering Design program at Brewster High School is modeled after the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts. These standards apply to all students regardless of their background in art, abilities, developmental and learning differences, interests, or ambitions.

This course teaches problem-solving skills using a design development process and math and science skills. Models of product solutions are created, analyzed and communicated using solid modeling computer design software. This course utilizes the Project Lead the Way curriculum.

The DDP elective is a full year course. Students taking this course will receive one (1) credit towards graduation. This full year course will address the areas of design, aesthetics, architectural history, art elements, and principles of design. Emphasis will be placed on individual design, craftsmanship, and critical evaluation of the work.
