Mrs. Lisa DeRose

Mrs. Lisa DeRose joined the BHS staff as a Special Education teacher in 2021. Prior to teaching with the Brewster school district, Mrs. DeRose worked as an English Language Arts teacher with the NYC Department of Education as well as an adjunct professor and writing instructor at Westchester Community College. She joins the BHS staff with over fifteen years of teaching experience to a wide range of student learners. Having moved to the Brewster area with her family, she is excited to now be serving as a teacher in her own community.

Mrs. DeRose is NYS certified to teach in the following areas: English Language Arts (Grades 5-12), Students With Disabilities, Generalist (Grades 1-12), Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) and Literacy (All Grades); she is also a certified reading instructor with the Wilson Reading System.
